Artifact #1 : My first peer response
"Hey Taylor I can appreciate the fact that we both had life changing moments occur around the same time periods in our lives. I think that you have a great topic and can really turn that into a great story. I would like to see the writing examples coming up in the next few paragraphs and I cant wait to read and fully understand the impact that your teacher, Mrs. Geiselhardt had on you as well as the author you mentioned, Ronald Dahl. I would like to know more about the author and what kind of books he published ad how that style or how exactly his work impacted you as a writer."
Why it's included in my portfolio:
This peer review was the very first of many throughout the course. It was a starting point and as the year progressed, a point of reference to see how much my work had changed. Although it was only a few sentences, it was the start of my writing journey in ENC 1101 and was a piece I was proud to receive a grade for. Additionally, it did help me reflect my use of proper punctuation and the overall potential for grammatical growth in my writing.
Student Learning Objective: Variation Across Contexts
This artifact is able to achieve this learning objective by exploring my peer's writing and reflecting on it by tying in different contexts. I was able to relate to my peer and find similarities in her writing on a personal level, providing a cultural context, while also addressing areas where I feel her piece could be expanded upon from an academic perspective.
